TurboPS/360 [NewGen Systems Corporation]

TurboPS/360 is a high-resolution, high-speed PostScript-compatible laserprinter. The printer offers user-selectable printing at 600 x 300 dpiand 300 x 300 dpi. It has a proprietary dual-processor designincorporating a 20 MHz Intel 80960 RISC processor and an Intel 80186 I/Ocoprocessor. This powerful combination is responsible for speed up to 15times faster than other PostScript printers. TurboPS/360 is designed forelectronic publishing, desktop presentations, and externalcorrespondence.Besides PostScript compatibility, TurboPS/360 offers HP LaserJet SeriesII, HPGL (HP 7475A), and Epson LQ-800 emulations. TurboPS/360 uses theCanon SX engine, the same engine in the HP LaserJet Series II and III andApple's LaserWriter IINT and IINTX. 3-MB of memory are standard. Memorymay be upgraded to 5 MB for additional font storage and double-pagebuffering. With double buffering, as one page is being printed, the nextpage is being processed, increasing performance by about 25 percent onmultipage documents. For even more font storage, a SCSI hard disk may beattached to the printer through its optional SCSI interface.
